Blake Gutzeit (Yamaha) edged closer to the junior world title with victory in the third round of the FIM Maxxis SuperEnduro World Championship in Bilbao, Spain at the weekend.

The Oslo Beach rider continued where he left off in Round Two in Germany by registering a 2-1-2 scorecard in three thrilling races to win the Junior Class for the second straight time.

With a runner-up result in Round One in Poland, Gutzeit sits atop the championship standings heading into the fourth and final round of the season in Albi, France on March 18.

Paddock rider Kyle Flanagan (Sherco) gutted it out with cracked ribs he sustained in the opening round of the MSA Liquorland National Enduro Championship. He showed plenty of heart but couldn’t replicate his podium finish in Poland.

Fellow South African Travis Teasdale (KTM) made a statement on debut to claim third overall behind Ben Herrera.
