South Coast Hospice held its first Toyota Cane Hike on Sunday.
The inaugural event exceeded expectations as 40 people participated despite it only being advertised on Hospice’s Facebook page.
The group were welcomed by Hospice staff at Ant Apostolides’ Farm behind South Coast Toyota, where they enjoyed a relaxing 3.8km hike (shortened due to mud).
Hospice fund-raising co-ordinator BT King said, “Thank you to all who participated in making the event such a wonderful and fun experience.
“We are so excited that we are now working to arrange another cane hike. The Helen Mostert Memorial Cane Walk will have a flea market, dam fishing and a picnic area, and dogs on leashes will also be able to participate, so watch this space for more details.”
