The Creston Junior Primary interhouse gala took place recently.
It was the very first BIG school gala for the little grade one’s and although they were very nervous, they all swan like little fishes. All the swimmers swam well with some serious competitors on the day.
We are so proud of the progress they have made in the pool this term. Eagle House took home the winning house trophy.
It has a very busy sporting week for the Senior Primary. The individual inter-school gala took place at Creston. This year the gala was combined as an Ugu trial for 50m events.
All the local schools namely, Port Edward, Southcity, Margate, Izotsha, Suid-Natal and Port Shepstone Senior Primary participated.
Some of our swimmers then participated in the Ugu Long Distance Trials Gala where some recorded personal best times.
We are extremely proud of the following learners who have been selected into the Ugu District team: Erin Heydricks, Salma Bejia, Amy Voigts, Gemma Allchin, Ayesha Pillay, George Annandale and Leah Scott.
The girls have been going through a series of netball trials and four of our girls, Salma Bejia, Tayla Tarr (under 13), Lilitha Mvana and Luminathi Ndwandwe (under 12) were selected to represent Sayidi at the Ugu District Netball Trials, which were held at Hoërskool Suid-Natal recently.
We are thrilled to announce that Salma Bejia, Lilitha Mvan and Luminathi Ndwandwe were selected into the Ugu District Team.
A big congratulations to all these girls and a big thank you to Mrs Pretorius and Mrs Oliphant for their incredible input into the girls and the trials process. We are lucky to have you ladies.
In other news, our boys won the Under-11 A cricket match against Port Shepstone Senior Primary by 9 wickets.
Joshua D`Arcy scored a quick 15 runs complemented by Ezra Seymour who scored 14* not out. Nabil Bejia was the top batter on 28 not out and took 1 wicket for 12 runs off 4 overs.
In a twist of fortunes, our Under-13 A boys coming off an 8-wicket win against Izotsha last week failed to find their form and were scuttled out by Port Shepstone Senior Primary who won the game by over 100 runs.
Joshua D`Arcy is wished all the best in the KZN Under 11 Cricket Trials taking place this weekend at various Durban North Schools.
