The Port Shepstone Hockey Club ladies side stormed to a commanding 5-1 win over Rivers 5 at the weekend.

A fantastic team effort saw as Sheppie make it four-from-four.

Zani Deacon scored a double while Daina Pieterse, Inez Smit and Kara Droomer also got on the scoresheet.

Player of the Match honours went to KwaZulu-Natal coastal ace Fortunate Mnikathi and Kelly Rothman.

Meanwhile, Kyle Allan starred on debut for the Sheppie men’s team against Rivers 3.

Allan turned in a Man-of-the-Match in what was a hard-fought game in which the teams were deadlocked at 0-0 at half time.

The hosts came out the stronger of the two teams and Sheppie eventually went down 3-0.

Port Shepstone’s men’s and women’s teams train every Tuesday and Thursday from 5.30pm to 7pm at Creston College.
