Port Shepstone Hockey Club hosted their second annual senior primary hockey tournament at Creston College recently.
The Coca-Cola Port Shepstone Hockey Club Senior Primary Tournament was once again a huge success and one to remember.
The tournament boasted plenty of prizes and was played on a reduced size field of 25 metres, which made for great entertainment.
Seventeen Under-11 and Under-13 teams made up of players from Izotsha, Southcity and Creston College competed in the second edition of the competition.
Four Under-13 girls teams contested Pool A, five Under-13 boys teams played in Pool B, five Under-11 girls teams and one Under-9 girls team – who won one of their matches – played in Pool C and two Under-11 boys teams made up Pool D.
The Under-13 girls competition was won on goals scored by Venous Vixens, who edged out Goal Addicts.
Six Pack won the Under-13 boys competition with Gentleman’s Club finishing as runners-up.
The Under-11 girls and boys competitions were won by Lumo Strikers and Team Bokke (pictured) ahead of Dominate and the Ghosts respectively.
“It was a fun-filled tournament and the weather was lovely despite the North-easterly blowing,” Port Shepstone Hockey Club’s Lana Rhodes told eHowzit.
“We would like to thank Powerade and Coca Cola, Ola, the Croc farm, John Dory’s, Spur, Panarotti’s, County Ford and not least of all Creston College for their lovely facilities.
“Thank you also to all the parents who supported their children during the tournament and to the club members who came to help make the day a memorable one.”
