Wade Young (Sherco) scored his first big win of 2017 when he won the Wiesel-X Hard Enduro in Germany at the weekend.
Young and fellow South Coast superstar Blake Gutzeit (Neubert) flew the South African flag and were among some 140 riders from across the globe who competed in the race.
They were in for a tough battle against the likes of local favourites Manuel Lettenbichler, Marcel Teucher, Rene Dietrich and Kevin Gallas, and other top names such as Mario Roman, Philipp Bertl and David Cyprian.
A superenduro-styled Prologue whittled the field down to 30 for the eight-lap ChampRace final, Young and new superenduro world champion Gutzeit both blasting their way into the main race.
Young showed his class to clinch a hard-earned victory ahead of Lettenbichler and Roman, with Gutzeit just missing out on a place on the podium in fourth position.
