Four Blue Ocean Aquatics (BOA) swimmers participated in the South African National Junior Age Group Swimming Championships in Durban recently.
The meet is for swimmers 18 years and younger who have swum quailing times in their respective events with teams from Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Kenya also attending.
Milla Drakopoulos, Michelle Kretzschmar, Marnu Koekemoer and Jethro Rolfe represented BOA in the big event.
Milla was in sensational form and won two gold medals, establishing herself as the best 12-year-old in the country in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
She also won two silver medals in the 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly and three bronze medals in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle.
Marnu, Jethro and Michelle also had great races and improved on 95% of their events respectively. Jethro had 29.77 seconds total improvement on his swims, Marnu improved by 12.55 seconds on his swims and Michelle was back to form, swimming personal best times in the 50m and 100m backstroke.
