Southbroom whale freed

A whale that was caught up in a shark net off Southbroom, has been freed by a KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board crew.   The whale’s tail was trapped by the shark net,  and at one stage was swimming in circles, trying to free itself.  Eyewitnesses say although the whale was freed, part of the net and buoys were still attached to the mammal’s tail.   Conservationists hope the whale will eventually shake off the net and buoys.
