The South Coast Bass Association (SCBA) celebrated its 29th year of existence at their annual general meeting on Friday night.
New champions were honoured and a new committee was elected to steer the club into 2018.
Manus Erasmus stood down as chairman after five years and congratulated newly-elected chairman, Anthony Card.
Ferro van Greunen was re-elected as vice chairman and Koos Bronkhorst as weighmaster, while Joggie de Winnaar was elected as the treasurer.
The SCBA champion of 2017 in the heaviest bag category is Erasmus, followed by Shawn Stewart and Van Greunen.
Van Greunen won the biggest bass category, followed by Thys Hoffman and Hennie Ferreira.
The next year of bass angling is going to be filled with exciting fishing with the SCBA announcing a new tournament called Beat the Pros.
Anglers will be invited to compete against the bassmasters of the SCBA and prizes and cash will be up for grabs in this new event.
New initiatives will also be introduced for the preservation and conservation of bass.
