Port Shepstone ladies get golf league off to strong start

Port Shepstone’s ladies golfers played their first league game at Amanzimtoti on Sunday where partners Yzelle Greyling and Debi Stewart, Cilla Lindsay and Jenny Hulley and Cecelia Verster and Anni Stoppel played a new betterball matchplay format against Southbroom.

They came away with two wins and a draw and earned five out of a maximum six points.

Wednesday’s individual stableford at Port Shepstone Country Club was closely contested, with Kevin Loring getting the win on 37 points after beating runner-up Gerald Koch and third-placed Ken Morris on a count out.

Saturday’s individual stableford was won by Charles Mostert on 45 points.

Graham Dickson was second on 44 points after beating Dick Mol on a countout and Johann van Niekerk won a count out for fourth place.
